How wonderful it is to preview the new collections of the designers you admire and also to discover new talents. NYFW has become one of my favorite events of the year. Thank you so very much for keeping me company on the stories, I hope you enjoyed the snips of the shows, it gives me goosebumps the simple thought that I’m seeing the upcoming trends firsthand and that I’m able to share them with you in real time!
Here is the recap of the shows I attended and the looks that impacted me the most, keep your eyes on the materials, colors and prints because this is what you’ll need for Fall -Winter 2019.
Que maravilla es estar en las presentaciones de nuevas colecciones de los diseñadores que admiras y descubrir otros. NYFW se ha convertido en una de mis “festividades” favoritas. Muchas gracias por haberme acompañado en las historias espero hayan disfrutado junto conmigo estos momentos que me ponen la piel chinita de tan solo pensar que estoy viendo de primera mano las tendencias que vendrán en los siguientes 6 meses y que las puedo compartir con ustedes!
Aquí les dejo un recap de los shows en los que estuve y los looks que más me impactaron, no pierdan de vista las telas, combinación de estampados porque esto es lo que estaremos usando para otoño-invierno 2019.
SON JUNG WAN designs are created with luxury fabrics, lots of velvet in rich colors such copper deep blues but also the pink plush materials and plaids were seen on the runway, these patterns are a strong influence for the colder days. We continue with sequins and metallics in feminine silhouettes with heavy falls. Click on this link to see the complete collection.

Ricardo Seco’s show was a success and one of my favorites, the theater was full of Mexican socialites; The show opened with cumbia music that instantly put the audience in good mood. His collection includes a lot of street style in velvet materials, cotton and puffers in coated finishes. Layering lightweight fabrics with chunky coats was part of the styling.
El show de Ricardo Seco fue todo un éxito, estuvo lleno de celebridades mexicanas. el show abrió con música vernácula que hizo que todo el teatro se pusiera a corear. Su colección abarca mucho street style en materiales de velvet, algodones y puffers en terminados plastificados; como toque final, usas piezas empalmadas en telas que van desde lo más ligero hasta lo más grueso. Este es un estilo desenfadado que sin duda voy a quiero explorar más.

Oxord Fashion presented RON RAMOS NEW YORK, and I must say that I had an Instant crush on this designer and his suits made with lux fabrics, the hats gave me the 40’s vibes!, totally my style. Follow the link to shop his collections. Another beautiful runway moment was presented by FARAH NAZ couture (visit her page!) her evening dresses can’t pass unnoticed, she knows how to perfectly execute the combination of different luxurious textiles with transparencies, feathers, tulles and appliqué.
Oxord Fashion presentó a RON RAMOS, un diseñador que enamoró con los power suits y sombreros, totalmente mi estilo. Los vestidos de noche de FARAH NAZ están no pasan desapercibidos, me encanta ver composiciones con diferentes texturas y contrastes como transparencias, plumas, tules y apliqués.
The Rebeca Minkoff Show left me speechless to see that not all of her models were catwalk professionals but instead she chose women of all kinds of bodies who wore her SS 2019 designs inspired by the optimism of Ibiza.
El Show de Rebeca Minkoff me dejó boquiabierta al ver que no todas sus modelos eran las profesionales de pasarelas sino que eligió mujeres de todo tipo de siluetas quien lucen diseños inspirados en el optimismo de Ibiza.

The invitation to the Noor and Nikki talk was very emotional as they addressed issues of diversity and inclusion in the professional field, they shared their experiences and how they got ahead of the game despite being considered a minority in their areas. As you know NYFW isn’t about runways only, there are endless cocktails parties and lounge areas to disconnect to re connect. One of the lounges was the BUMBLE Hive soho, it was the perfect place to rest, catch up with emails while enjoying the food bar, and get a makeup touch up.
NYFW no solo es para ver tendencias de moda también hay sin fin de eventos, fiestas y lounges, uno de los que más disfruté fue el BUMBLE Hive soho, el lugar perfecto para descansar, ponerme al corriente con los emails mientras disfrutaba de la barra de comida y un retoque de maquillaje antes de mi siguiente evento.
It’s spoiled-me time! the Dream Downtown is truly a dream! fabulous hotel with a unique architecture, the round windows are so fab. Perfectly located near entertainment, restaurants and nightlife. In the evenings, the lobby revives our tired souls with a super chill music thanks to the DJ in shift and with a little help from the bartender this the place is where one comes back to life. Followed by a succulent dinner at Bodega Negra or the Philippe , top it off till 4am at the PHD Rooftop.
Muy consentida por el staff de Dream Downtown, fabuloso hotel con una arquitectura singular, las ventanas redondas han sido mi hit! está perfectamente ubicado . Por las noches hotel el lobby te da la bienvenida con una una vibra super chill gracias al DJ en turno, es el lugar perfecto para la pre-copa después te puedes ir a cenar al Bodega Negra o Philippe Downtown or a seguir la fiesta en el PHD Rooftop.
