I know a lot of us are in denial, truth is, summer has come to an end and despite my visit to my hometown earlier in June, I still wanted to enjoy a few other things in the sweet company of my daughter.
We stayed in Santa Monica, this time we had the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality and modern design of the courtyard by Marriott, it’s not ocean front but honestly it doesn’t matter, it has the perfect location, across the street from the Santa Monica Place Shopping Mall, in other words, across from Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton… you get the idea, the promenade and Pier are only a couple of blocks away too.

Cozy accommodations included the beautiful terrace that my daughter and I enjoyed for two days.

This terrace is perfect to rest after a day full of fun activities around Santa Mo.

I planned this trip with a few things in mind , one of this was having brunch at the Ivy, I know What a cliché but it’s more than that, it’s nostalgia I’m not too crazy about trying the trendiest eateries in town when I haven’t had one of my favorite dishes in months.
After our delicious lunch, we strolled around the Pier just for the fun of it,
the Breezy weather and almost empty streets helped us made the best of our afternoon. A little shopping by the promenade and santa Monica Place were on cue, the right amount of cardio to burn off our delicious fries.

Next day, we headed out to Hollywood, it was my first time walking down East Hollywood and getting on the metro, Gee! not sure if I want to repeat this experience!
Of course I did the whole tourist thing, taking pictures with Edward scissorhands and buying keychains for souvenirs, I think they’re still in my bag, all the walking was with the intention of catching a little street style but all I found was a lot of performers which it didn’t help my StyleInspo.
Moving on, next in our agenda was a quick visit to Universal Studios, our transportation of choice? the metro, I mean it’s only one stop ahead and it can be fun right? Truth is, that I promised my daughter to take her to the wizardy world of Harry Potter, and riding the subway counted as an adventure for her, mission accomplished!
